Imagine being able to lose belly fat, so that you finally can have a flat stomach, with toned abs. Sound impossible? You’ve tried everything but nothing seems to work? Well, if you have been doing 150 crunches per day, and you still can’t see any result, I can tell you why. You are doing it the wrong way. Sorry, but that is the truth.
Unfortunately you can’t target one area, abs for example, and hope to lose weight around your waist. You need to look at your body as a whole, and treat it as such. You won’t be able to get a flat stomach by only doing crunches.
Exercise
Ab exercises are great, but avoid getting into a rut. If you do millions of crunches only, your body will get used to it, and they will not be very effective. Make your exercising a bit more fun by trying something new. Some great exercises are Bicycle Crunches, V-Sit and Toe Raises. These will work your core, and will include more muscles in the exercise. This will help you burn more fat.
Something else that is important for you to know is that muscle tissue burns much more fat that other tissue. So don’t be afraid of using weights in your workout. Muscle tissue will even burn fat when resting. This means your belly fat will disappear.
Set as a goal to get your heart rate going for 30 minutes per day. You don’t have to go to gym to do that. You can go for a walk, always take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. Be creative.
But don’t forget to exercise ALL your muscles. If you focus on your abdomen only, your back will be out of balance, and so on. So make sure you give all body parts a run for it.
Diet
If your diet contains a lot of junk food, sweets, sodas, beers, and sugar, you will never get rid of your pot belly. Take a little bit of time, and find out what it is that your body needs. Don’t get fooled by a pill that will make you thin by tomorrow, there is NO QUICK FIX to a great body.
It’s important to never starve your body, even if you are trying to lose weight. Instead, eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, and lean meats, and drink a lot of water.
And don’t forget to spoil yourself every now and then. If you deny yourself anything nice, it’s very unlikely you will be able to keep it up.
You need to remember to stay patient. The midsection it the last area your body will actually lose weight. But stay determined. If you don’t give up, you will soon see great results.
