Discover The SECRET Truth About Building Muscle FAST!

by Travis Van Slooten

Many people attempt to diet again and again, only to fail time and time again. Why is this the case for so many unfortunate people? This is because diets are restrictive and designed to only use for short periods of time. Diets become boring and flat. This is why so many people quit their diets just to resume to the way they used to eat. Typically, as people come off of their diets, they end up binging on unhealthy foods for several days in a row. This type of eating will make many people gain back the weight they lost on their diet.

How should people be eating? How are people actually aware of whether they are mentally hungry or actually physically hungry? People can eat a lot of times in reaction to emotional situations or moods. People must learn to eat ‘intuitively.’ Intuitively means actually learning when you are hungry. People need to allow their bodies to notify them that they are hungry, instead of listening to their minds.

Wait for a growling stomach or hunger pangs to know when you are hungry and should be eating. Do not overindulge or you risk becoming stuffed, which is truly unhealthy and very uncomfortable. People need to learn to listen to their stomachs and push away the plate when they are done eating. If you are at a restaurant, have the plate removed when you are finished.

Many people eat because their mind tells them that they are hungry. Others eat as a result of an emotional situation. Some people eat out of boredom. Whatever the case, all of these are cases of mental hunger, not physical hunger. Your body only needs food when you are physically hungry, not mentally hungry.

Eating due to mental hunger is what usually drives people have eating binges and experience eating disorders. To stop this unhealthy cycle, you have to learn how to listen to the body’s physical hunger. If you are able to stop yourself from eating when it’s the mind that tells you to do so, then you are on your way to managing your food intake and can start to lose weight.

You also must learn to stop yourself from over consuming too much food because it tastes good. The brain takes a full 20 minutes to recognize when a person is full. Eat slowly so all of your signals are registered and work. Once you are full, stop eating and push your plate away. This in turns prevents the build up of excess fat and calories from entering the body and potentially ruining the weight loss goals you have set forth. This process of learning how to eat ‘intuitively’ is not quick and will not be learned overnight. You must take the time to practice daily to truly learn how to only eat when you are physically hungry.

How to know if you are physically hungry is very important to a healthy eating lifestyle. Once you learn how to do it, you will no longer find yourself raiding the refrigerator or eating all the snacks in the house in one sitting.
