Women with abs lift weights. It is a misconception that women don’t lift weights. Most women view a fit, well-defined tone body as the ideal body type. By making changes in our diet, managing our stress levels, lifting weights and doing cardiovascular interval training, we can affect our overall health and get toned abs.
A major factor in making changes to your diet is avoiding fatty fast foods, processed sugary snacks and carbonated beverages. Eating these foods, increases the amount of calories we consume, when we are unable to fully consume all those calories, the excess food is converted into fat and stored in our body.

A regiment of 5-6 small meals throughout the day allows our body to keep a constant blood sugar level and maintain our energy level for our body’s physical activities.
Decreasing our stress levels are important in keeping fat away. Studies have shown that stress causes the hormone Cortisol to be released, which causes body fat to be stored in the abdominal area.
Multi-joint exercises with resistance training increases the body’s metabolic capacity, which allows the body to efficiently burn fat. The muscles that are developed from the exercises use more energy and the body is forced to utilize the excess body fat to fuel its increased activity.
Interval training has been very effective in burning fat and increasing the body’s metabolism. The short bursts of energy with high intensity exercise makes the body adapt to the activity by increasing the metabolic activity of the muscles. The muscles not only become more efficient at burning fat, but continue to burning fat for several hours after the training session.
The further health benefits of reducing belly fat have been proven in many studies. By burning belly fat, we decrease the chances of acquiring diabetes, certain types of cancer and cardiovascular disease. Decreasing belly fat will keep you from healthy and give you added confidence to feel young and fit.
Lifting weights is a factor that will help women get great abs. Changing our diet, managing our stress levels, lifting weights and cardiovascular interval training will help you achieve a healthy life with a flatter stomach.
