You started your diet; you lose a few pounds and felt elated. After awhile you start to cheat on your diet and end up gaining more weight than when you started. Does this sound familiar? Most people who try the 6 Week Body Makeover go through this phase. However, the people that go through the “cheating” phase and continue their diet will persevere and lose more weight.

First off, you will lose weight as long as you stick to the plan. You cheated or diverted from the plan and that is why you failed. It is nearly impossible to not lose weight on this plan as the Michael Thurmond diet is so painstakingly simple that anyone could do it.

The diet works by you choosing and consuming the foods that will help your metabolism burn calories at a faster rate. You plan your meals based on your body blue print and determine where your problem areas are. Once you implement your plan, you have to stick to it. There are no excuses on why you are not losing weight on the six week body program unless you cheating on the diet.

Most people want instant gratification. Sure, there are many diet programs and pills that can help you lose weight, but this is a short-term solution to a long-term problem. The people who want instant gratification will start a diet program and stay with it for only a couple of weeks. Within these two weeks they see some weight loss and start to reward themselves with fatty foods. This causes them to gain weight and then they give up on the program as they think the program didn’t work for them. Eating healthy is a life-time commitment and once you divert from a healthy eating plan, you will gain weight. People are programmed to give up easily and that’s why the program doesn’t work for them.

After the weight gain, the people blame the diet for gaining all the weight back as they say the diet is “too bland” or “too strict”. It’s called a DIET for a reason! The purpose is to lose weight and to eat healthy. Of course you’re not supposed to eat ice cream and fried chicken (the point is to lose weight, remember?). However, healthy food doesn’t have to be bland food. Just prepare differently! Stick to the program and you will definitely lose weight, however, once you start diverting from the program you will gain the weight back.

There are ways to wean yourself off fatty foods. First, start cooking more often at home and stop eating out as much. This way you can control portion size and what type of foods you’re eating. Also, cook with less oil and start cooking with more water and soup broth. Start adding half the salt to all of your meals and slowly wean yourself off of salt. The food will taste bland without spices so you can add peppers and other low sodium alternatives.

My research have shown that majority of us are actively seeking weight loss solutions that promise a lean physique without any effort on our part. Most of us are convinced that we don’t have the time, energy nor motivation to exercise or eat healthily, so we opt for “easy ways to lose weight fast” without reflecting whether they really work or not.

The demand for such weight loss solutions is far too big that it won’t make economic sense to fully exploit it. Is it a wonder then why many companies get into the business of selling quick fixes, magic potions and pills, and miracle cures?

Do these sound familiar:

“Simply peel and stick to burn fat and lose weight!” (ad selling diet patches)

“This product will change your body in 4 minutes a day!”

“Forget about long, difficult exercises! We have a range of treatments and surgeries to make you lose weight…”

“Take this pill, go to bed… wake up skinny! It’s magic!”

What did you notice about them?

The sad thing is that most more us - in our desperation and helplessness - have fallen for these tricks.

Marketers and salespeople may regard it as just business, but surely you deserve to be told what you’re buying can really do and cannot do.

They say when it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. So before you fall for any of the hype again, remember these 3 things being kept from you by most marketers of quick fix weight loss solutions:

1. “Losing weight” is not necessarily a good thing.

Many of these quick-fix weight loss “solutions” like slimming teas, cellulite creams, body wraps, etc. only make you lose bodily fluids.

Here’s the rub- our body is 75% water!! Lose some water and you’ll lose weight, but you’ll still have the same amount of fat!

2. Starvation or an extreme low-calorie diet will not necessarily make you lose fat.

Suppressing your appetite is how some quick fix solutions work. Suppressing your appetite means you’ll be on a low calorie diet, but this method is flawed because ultimately an extremely low-calorie diet makes your body hoard fat.

Effectively, our body’s response to starvation are to slow down our metabolisms and use lean muscle mass as fuel instead of burning off our body fat - 2 of the last things you want to happen when you’re looking for ways to look lean and sculpted without much effort or time.

Is that what you really want?

3. The effects are not permanent.

Of course, when you DO lose weight through bogus means and by using ineffective products, in order to keep losing weight you’re made to think you have to keep consuming their products. And that’s exactly what marketers and vendors are training you to do: to keep buying their stuff!

Considering this reason alone, you may want to ask yourself if it’s really worth it.

Conclusion

A more worthy objective to aim for (instead of weight loss) is fat loss. Measure your body fat percentage and aim to decrease it using healthy methods that will give you lasting results.

When it comes to fat loss, there are only 3 things that work effectively, inexpensively and healthily: proper nutrition, regular exercise, and a positive attitude or mindset.

As with all things worth having, having a fantastic body comes with a price, and youmust decide if you’re willing to pay whatever it takes.

It’s time to wake up and admit that if we can indeed buy our way into having the best bodies we can possibly have without putting in any effort, then how come more and more people are suffering with excess weight?

Exercise is always associated with good healthy diet. It is by far one of the most important factors for one to have an effective and healthy diet.

However, although fish and chicken appear to be leaner than beef, this white meat can contain more fat than beef when it is fried. It is recommended for those on a strict diet opt for grilled food as it does not have much fat after the food is cooked.

6: Drink lots of fluid. Drinking at least six to eight glasses of water a day keeps the body ‘flushed’ and because weight loss depends on how the body eliminates body wastes, the body must stay hydrated.

So, all in all, discipline and consistency is the key to quick weight loss. Light dieting, exercise and the correct nutritional supplements taken regularly everyday will result in a quicker weight loss than having a huge, but short-lived campaign followed by a return to the bad old ways, because this only results in adding more weight than before the weight loss plan was started.

Toning ab muscles is probably a very hot subject among adults and even among younger individuals. In order to tone those stubborn muscles in your abdominal area, you must exercise consistently and you need to keep your body fats low enough. Too much fat in your stomach functions as a covering that will pretty much hide your abdominal muscles. Remember that abdominal muscles are quite stubborn. You need to be patient since results cant be seen immediately. By being consistent with your exercises and of course, your diet, you will be able to tone those ab muscles in a matter of months. Once youre removed the stomach bulges, you must continue with the exercises so that you can start toning your muscles.
